Kings College Medical Skills Workshop 28/09/17
On Thursday 28th September, Hewens College hosted a Kings College Medical Skills Workshop.
Year 11 Hewens College students and Post 16 students from across the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust took part in an afternoon of activities led by medical students from Kings College. This included Yousef Chedid who was once a student at Hewens College and is now in his 3rd year of studying for a Medicine degree. Students were absolutely delighted to not only meet a future doctor, but also a young man that attended their own school!
The aim of this fantastic afternoon was to give our students an insight into the realities of becoming a doctor or surgeon. Students took part in activities such as learning to take a blood sample, suturing and auscultation.
The Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust supports the high aspirations of its students by offering them a variety of career based learning opportunities. This engaging and thought provoking afternoon is the first of many events we will hold at Hewens College as part of our continuing relationship with Kings College's Medicine Outreach team.
