The UK University and Apprenticeship Search Fair 29/09/17

Bright and early on Friday 29th September forty Hewens College Year 11 students and ninety Post 16 students from across the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust made their way across London to attend the UK University and Apprenticeship Search Fair at the Emirates Stadium. This exciting and informative event had three huge exhibitions with the opportuntity for them to access lots of literature and personal advice.  The students were able to talk to some of the UK's best apprenticeship providers, for example Ernst and Young. They also spoke to Higher Education colleges, specialist institutions, and Universities. At each stand students were given prospectuses to take away, which resulted in many students carrying bulging back packs home, full of information to help them with future decisions! Some students opted to attend university seminars, including ‘UCAS Personal Statement and application advice’, ‘Oxbridge applications’ and a ‘Russell Group University Seminar’. Those who aspire to undertake apprenticeships were lucky enough to listen to a presentation, Securing an Apprenticeship - the do’s and don’ts, and were able to speak with the Apprenticeship Advice Panel. A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all with many students setting their sights firmly on their future!
