Mathematics Meets Food Technology 1/06/21
The Year 7 students took on a cross curriculum activity that combined Mathematics with Food Technology. With scrumptious scrambled eggs and toast on the menu for the day, they each aimed to show off their cooking prowess by using the recipe to convert its measurements into the desired reduced portions.
Students embedded their mathematical skills of ratio and proportion in order to make the right quantity of food that would be shared equally. They also demonstrated their skills of Science, particularly whilst managing temperature and using flow of heat in order to cook the scrambled eggs and toast to the perfect temperature. Managing the cooking time proved to be a delicious success for all our students!
